To be a student at a Danish folk high school you must be 17 and a half years of age at the beginning of the term in which you attend the school.
Having become a student you will choose subjects to fill up up your weekly schedule. Due to Danish legislation, participation in a minimum of 28 lessons pr. week is mandatory (one lesson is 45 minutes).
The folk high school experience also includes doing duties such as cleaning your living space and classrooms and participating in serving meals.
Notice too that it is a requirement that you speak and understand English well enough to fully take part in life and classes at our school. Some subjects can only be attended if you speak Danish. Eventually you will of course, as part of our program for international students, learn some Danish, but until then you need to communicate in English.
