To sign up for a course at Ry Højskole you will need to pay a registration fee of DKR 3.000, -.
Studying at Ry Højskole on full board sharing a room is DKR 1875, – a week. Furthermore the study trip is DKR 3.300.
Additional expenses for materials and trips depending on which classes you attend may occur.
The Danish state provides a limited possibility of a scholarship that may reduce the weekly fee. Should you decide to sign up for Ry Højskole you may take this into consideration – see ‘How do I apply’.
To be a student at a Danish folk high school you must be 17 and a half years of age at the beginning of the term in which you attend the school.
Having become a student you will choose subjects to fill up up your weekly schedule. Due to Danish legislation, participation in a minimum of 21 lessons pr. week is mandatory (one lesson is hour).
The folk high school experience also includes doing duties such as cleaning your living space and classrooms and participating in serving meals.
Notice too that it is a requirement that you speak and understand English well enough to fully take part in life and classes at our school. Some subjects can only be attended if you speak Danish.
Autumn semester 2020: August 9th to December 12th (18 weeks).
Spring semester 2021: January 10th to June 12th (22 weeks)
